Q: What is the difference between Hadith, Sunnah and Fatwa?
Hadith is the exact sayings of the the last Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.
Sunnah of the Prophet are his deeds, actions and his tacid approval, i.e. actions done by others in his presence which he did not comment.
Hadith in some cases carries orders explained directly from the Quran and in some cases simple directives for everyday life for Muslims to learn and imply in their lives.
Sunnah or the actions of the Prophet peace be upon him is the exact practical implementation of Quran and teachings of Islam. His Sunnah is the guidelines for the Muslims to follow conducting all their affairs of life.
Fatwa: is a religious ruling to a question based on Islāmic law and issued by Islāmic scholars. It is applied to Muslims only. Fatwa is based on Quran and Sunnah of the last Prophet of God Almighty, Muhammad peace be upon him.
